Cancer Print E-mail

I find it interesting how a government can force girls to get new and possibly dangerous vaccinations for HPV, a possible link to cancer, but yet still allow people to smoke in the open when it can cause cancer in others. The state of Texas is mandating vaccinations for girls (See Christopher Stryker's editorial " Mandating HPV vaccinations for all girls is one step too far"). Now there is a bill that will attempt the same thing in Missouri being talked about.

Jerslan - Why would we want to be France Registered | 2007-03-26 18:28:14
The US could ban smoking in public places (many places have designated smoking areas), but that would make us more like France. Why would you want to copy France? I mean, come on, IT'S FRANCE!

Disclaimer: For those with no sense of humor. The above statement was meant in jest and is not a completely serious opinion, even though it does have something of a point.

That being said... It is stupid to make the vaccination a requirement. Not for the reasons that you state, but more on the lines of civil liberties that could easily be seen as being violated by such a law.
