Hey everybody, I didn’t make it to a movie this week, but as always I do buy a lot of DVD’s .  This week I’ve got some recommendations for that wad of cash just burning a hole in your wallet.

X-Men: The Last Stand came out early in October, and is the third movie in the X-Men film trilogy.  The plot line basically centers around a new “cure” for mutants developed by a pharmaceutical company.  Magneto and his band of mutants is seeking to destroy the cure and its source once and for all, and the only thing stopping them is the X-Men.  The special features on the special edition DVD are somewhat cool, the deleted scenes are good cuts for the most part, though some of them do shed some light on the story.  My only real gripe is that the so called alternate endings, are really nothing more than deleted scenes that happen to go at the end of the film.

Click, Adam Sandler’s comedy about a man who gets a remote that controls his universe is a fairly entertaining film that has a heartwarming ending very uncharacteristic of Sandler’s normal bread and butter.  The DVD isn’t bad, though the layer changes occur at awkward times.  The special features leave a lot to be desired however, with way too much how we made Adam Sandler fat, and way too little interesting features.

Over the Hedge is a light hearted CG film about a thieving loner raccoon named RJ who goes after stealing a load of human snacks from an angry bear named Vincent.  Given the ultimatum of replacing the food, or become the replacement food,  he decides to trick a group of woodland creatures into gathering the food for him.  The film itself is pretty good, and the DVD though a little light on content does have some fun features.

Lewis Black: Red, White, and Screwd is the latest offering from Daily Show export Lewis Black.  If you haven’t seen this yet, you should, it’s classic Lewis Black with a lot of new material in the mix sure to keep you entertained.

Nacho Libre is a funny, inspired by true life, tale of a monk who decides to become a professional wrestler so that he can afford better food for the children at the orphanage where he cooks.  The film is pretty funny in its own right, though I can safely tell you that this is not Jack Black’s best work.  Though I can recommend the film for its entertaining dialogue and Black’esque comedy, I can’t really reccomend the DVD as it’s so light on special features it might as well be a VHS tape.
