I consider myself an educated voter. Sometimes I am naïve. I admit that, but I usually know what I am talking about. When I chose to vote for McCain in the Presidential Primary, I knew I was making the right decision. When I see things like ‘Johnathan Taft’ wrote it gets me a bit vexed because I know that he is twisting facts to dissuade people from voting for Sen. McCain. I will go through the charges lain out against McCain.     First off, his use of the word ‘gooks.’ He uses it to refer to the men who tortured him for five years while he was a POW in Vietnam. He has said he only refers to them. They tortured him because his father was the Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command. They wanted him to release a propaganda letter saying he was a war criminal. He did release a letter, but it was full of grammatical errors and other jargon to prove that it was forced.
The ‘tarbaby’ remark was McCain’s poor choice of words which he did apologize for. To prove that he is not a racist, all one has to do is look to his family, he has an adopted daughter from Bangladesh. McCain has been an avid supporter of campaign finance reform and reducing earmarks. Also he supports more stringent rules on lobbyist. He saw the error of his ways during the Keatings Five scandal and has been trying to make up for it.
Now on to the politics of the matter. Iraq: Sen. McCain does want to stay there, but unlike most national politicians he has personal ties to this war. He has one son serving in Iraq and another in Annapolis. He was a proponent of the troops surge, which seems to be helping.
I agree with him when he says that if we leave Iraq now, it will be a
mess to put it lightly. He does support an out-of-party immigration plan and does things against the party sometimes, but I believe that is a good thing. All I can ask of the readers is to not take my word or ‘Mr. Taft’s’ I urge you to go out and look up these things for your self. Be informed.

You do realize Jonathan told people to look that stuff up and that he said it wasn't important to his argument right? Also I would like you to explain how McCain's stance on earmarks does anything useful. You do understand what happens to the money if its not earmarked? His position points more towards showboating then anything. I'm also guessing you glazed over the parts of his campaign finance reform that violated the Constitution. Also you do nothing to argue that the immigration bill he supported was good legislation, your falling into the gray fallacy assuming that moderation is the correct response.
